Always find yourself looking for your next notebook to fill with fresh ideas, lists, scribbles or sketches? Come print and bind your own in this two-day workshop with visiting artist, Lindsay Schmittle of Gingerly Press!

On Saturday, we'll use a curated selection of large metal type, wood type and ornaments from the Signal Return collection and an array of ink colors to print one-off notebook covers. We'll print with a playful proofing technique used by Lindsay in the Gingerly Press studio as a way to "sketch" ideas on press. Then on Sunday, we'll bind those covers into 6x9" notebooks with plenty of pages for recording all your freshest ideas. Each participant will create 3 hand-printed & hand-bound notebooks by the end of the weekend.

Lindsay Schmittle is the owner and operator of Gingerly Press, a letterpress design studio (focused primarily on hand set type) in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Lindsay began acquiring her letterpress knowledge as a Visual Communications student at the University of Delaware and expanded her skills with mentors, workshops and a lot of practice in the Gingerly Press studio, established after her graduation in 2013.
